Tis the week before Christmas....

Less than a week until the big day. My kids are excited about it! I'm completely done and everything is wrapped and under the tree. Hope they like all of their stuff.
I remember being little and thinking that Santa and his Elves actually MADE the toys at the North Pole. We used to get handcrafted rocking chairs and rocking horses or wood puzzles -- because my Grandfather had a woodshop. It was really neat. I still have a few pieces of my childhood.
Now, kids just think that Santa is the one who brings the really expensive toys. Shouldn't we, as adults and hard working citizens of the world, unite and let them know how much effort, sweat, scrimping, saving, and toiling it takes for us to buy these things for them? Stop giving Santa all of the credit? I realize it's about giving and family and love.... but still.
Why should Mommy be the one who gives clothes and things they don't want when Santa revels in the glory of bringing them their Nintendo DS that they've been drooling over and hinting about for a year??? Ah well, I'm just lucky enough this year to be able to get things for my kids. It's been slim lately -- well, for most of my adult life. I get a tad sick of that, but.... not everyone can have it easy.
On a happier note...........
I got all A's.
We're finished moving.
My kids are happy to see their dog again.
It's nice to not have to stress over bills and things.
I live in the middle of nowhere.
My son's birthday is the day we go back for Spring semester.
Will be nice to go and buy books and be a huge ball of stress again.....

I do, truly, hope everyone has a warm, wonderful, happy, safe holiday.
May all of your wishes come true.
Me? I'd rather be naughty.
