Yearly Update It Seems
Tuesday, July 22, 2008
I just decided to check on my blogs, since I've seemingly abandoned them!
This must be the yearly update. Maybe I should do an update theme. Not all that much in my life has changed!
I basically have the same job, different location - same company.
Same Stress.
Same unemployed husband.
Same wonderful children.
It's been a very nice summer, so far. I haven't had nearly enough time off, but I think that I'll be taking some vacation days here and there throughout the remainder of the summer to catch up on a tan! Hahaha.. Yeah right!
I feel as though I should be doing some sort of confessional!!
Forgive me father for I have sinned....
It's been over a year since my last posting!!
Maybe I can get away with just a few Hail Mary's to atone! =)
I mean really - who wants to read the psychotic ramblings of an old lady. Tee Hee. I never ever thought I would refer to myself as an "old Lady" but I'll be 37 in another few months. Ancient!! Hee hee.
It's time for a meeting @ work, so I guess that's my cue to just shut up!! =)
have a great day!

My Life Not At Edison
Sunday, June 17, 2007
Well, it's been awhile since I've blogged and I'm no longer taking classes at Edison.
I thought I would update my blog though, since I tend to enjoy writing about things that go on in my life.
This past semester, I attempted to take 4 classes. That didn't go over too well with my schedule nor did it help with the stress level I'm under. Talk about a complete breakdown!
I fell behind with my classes and it just started adding up.
Hopefully someone who reads this will take it to heart and NOT over schedule themselves. Having a full time job that requires a 50+ hour work week does not bode well for taking college classes. At least not with the other role's I have taken on in my life. I'm the breadwinner, the mom, the helper, the designer with an extra business to run. I love college but it can't compete with the busy life I lead, not at this time. I'm quite aggravated with myself though! I'd really like to have some sort of degree to justify my time at Edison. That's my own fault though! Thought I would change my major over to something like Business Management, since that would actually get me somewhere in the career world. Now, it's just a pipe dream until I don't have quite so many responsibilities in my life.
I think the last time I blogged I wasn't the Graphics Department Manager.
I now am, and I have 2 employees that work for me. I'm constantly at work, trying to be a conscientious worker, but it takes a heavy toll on my personal life.
That's about it for now! Hope everyone is staying out of the heat today. And of course, Happy Father's Day.
Miss you Brad!

2 month catch-up post
Thursday, September 14, 2006
So, it's been almost 2 months since I've actually blogged. (Feels like I'm at an AA meeting) So, what's been happening? A whole lot of things, but nothing too significant.
•Full-time job
•Kids back to school
•Full-time college for Fall Semester
•Moving
•Website jobs
•Final revisions to website jobs
•XBL Clan duties (and webmastering duties)
•4 day trip to Chicago for a LAN party
•Stress, stress and more stress
•Overtime
That's the gist of things.
I have a full-time job being a graphic designer for the Daily Advocate in Greenville.
It's been stressful and causes me to work much longer than anticipated, hence the overtime. There is never a dull moment, but it would be nice if there were, every once in awhile.
My kids are back to school. 5th and 3rd grade. Doing well, as always. My son plays 5th grade football and has games from Sept. 23rd until Halloween weekend - each Saturday. Cuts into my time to spend with them, but I know he's loving it and can use the excercise. My daughter got her ears pierced a couple of weeks ago. She's sporting some pretty earings that have her birthstone in them. Now, if she would just floss her teeth and take care of them as well as she does her ears, I wouldn't have anything to worry about again.
I must have been temporarily insane when registering to go full-time to college in addition to my other ventures. It's going to be tough and I'm going to have to learn how to manage my time better than I do right now. One thing that is nice, is that two of my classes are online and late semester, so I don't have to worry about them right this minute, while my job is soooooo busy.
I'm moving. Yay! Found a great place in Greenville and we're set to move in on October first. Time to buy some new furniture and get the place around! I can hardly wait. I'm anxious but a bit nervous, at the same time. Living room, family room, eat in kitchen, nice backyard, quiet enough street, 1.5 bathrooms... etc. It's going to be delightful and I'm absolutely stoked about it. Now, the trick is telling my father-in-law that we're moving out. yikes.
Website business has taken a back seat to my other job. I don't find that much extra time, but I really am wanting to get a steady stream of income from it. It's going to be tough to manage everything I have on my plate right now and get a bunch of jobs that I just can't seem to manage to fit in. I don't like having to make people wait for their sites, but it seems like that is all I can do lately. I get home from work completely burnt out after 12 hours, and then all I want to do is eat dinner and go to bed. Well, that just doesn't work.... and I do housework, homework, every other kind of work at home in my off hours. It's just never ending and I need to take a short hiatus.
I've closed my graphics request forum. I don't have the time to attend to that anymore. I hardly ever get to the Piqua campus, because I work during the day and my classes are all either Independent study or online. Saves me a ton of gas money -= although my husband still attends Edison full time and drives to Piqua almost every day. It's been quite tough having a conversion van equipped with a 350. Talk about a gas hog! We visited my family in Cleveland recently and it cost us nearly $150 in gas just to drive there and back. Holy Schnikes!! From then on, we've just been taking the family sedan everywhere.
Drove to Chicago over Labor Day Weekend. Met up with all of our "Online community" friends and got to party and play some games with them. LAN parties are awesome and this is going to be an annual shindig. Kind of expensive weekend, but it was worth it. I'll have to post a picture of the view we had from our 12th floor Hotel window. It was great - Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park. We got around okay, took the hotel shuttle when we didn't know where we were going, and walked a bunch too. There could be just a whole post just about Chicago, but I'm sure it would bore some of you guys to death. Playing video games in the upstairs party center of a bar. 4 projector screens. who wants to hear about that? LOL!!
I hope everyone is doing well, that classes are treating you right! And that everyone is as psyched about getting Loan Checks next week as I am!!
enjoy your weekend.
Stay safe.

New Job, Busy Life.
Saturday, July 22, 2006
As of last Monday I am now an official employee of the Daily Advocate - in the graphic design department. I was quite honored that they called me to ask if I would come and work for them. After 2 weeks of work, I'm still excited to be working there. The stress levels have escalated though.
I still have a business to run, still have an online class and an internship to do. I work 55 hours a week and 2 kids at home that want to spend time with me over the summer. So, yes, I'm exhausted and completely stressed over trying to get everything done that needs to be done.
Who'd have thunk it!?! Me! A full time job outside of the home.
What's great is that I'll have medical, dental, 401k, all the great benefits I need.
Hope they cover psychiatric visits for when I have a melt down and can't handle it anymore.
Hope everyone is doing well with their summer classes and is enjoying the temporary cool off today!
What a nice weekend! I may even go outside today.

Sunday..... it's just another one of those days
Sunday, June 25, 2006
We've spent most of the day being lazy bums. Just hanging around the house, doing laundry, cleaning up, etc. I finished my first Psychology assignment this morning and posted it on the Blackboard discussion board. I hope that's what the instructor is looking for! Hard telling with the first assignment. You really only have the other submissions to compare to, and I'm not sure if theirs were right or not, either!
I've been sitting at the computer for awhile today. Had to update some of my sites, add some content, change some content, I also need to finish updating all of the pages on my own site. Grafix Bytes. I need to do a bit more advertising or else find a full time job. I can't stand not having money every week rolling in!
I spend most of my time managing my own site, and then the Xbox live clan site - which has almost 100 members to it. I also have my brother-in-laws site that I maintain, a cornhole company's site that I maintain, and an internship for Troy-Hayner that I'm still working on. There are more sites, I just don't work on them quite as regularly. My family (in-laws) have a website that I built and maintain. There's still a bunch of work to be done on it, but I had left most of that up to my husband. I'll get around to it one of these days!
I'm just hoping that one day soon I'll have a full time job and quit having to worry about where the next source of income is rolling in from. That would take a bit of stress off! It's hard to picture having a full time job right now though. I have quite a bit going on, plus my kids are off for the summertime.
On a completely different note:
I just got an email from a friend of mine who's boyfriend died. It's a sad day. I wish the family and all luck making it through.
Well, maybe I should get off of my butt and do something around here! Dinner was salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. Had sundae's for dessert. Now I need to go and work some of that off!! Or else go to bed really early because I'm getting sleepy.
Enjoy the last bits of your weekend everyone!

First day of classes
Monday, June 19, 2006
Well.. I'm taking an online course, so this doesn't really apply to me.
I have assignments that need to be done by Thursday, I believe, so I'll be taking my Psych book to the pool with me tomorrow - if the weather is nicer!
Do some reading, come home and do some research.. work.. play.. clean.. normal.
I can't believe it's the 19th of June already! This year is just flying by.
It is my father-in-laws birthday today. We made it a bit special since about 4 months ago we weren't sure he was going to have another one. This morning we got him a huge chocolate cake with a custard like center to it. For lunch we drove in to Piqua and had lunch at El Sombrero (over by the new WalMart), and then we've just been relaxing ever since. Grilled out some hamburgers and steaks for dinner - watched some television and now it's time to actually get some work done.
It's gorgeous out tonight. Turn the air conditioning off, enjoy the freshly circulated air and sleep with the covers on!

After little sleep, it's time to wake up and take my father-in-law to breakfast!
Maybe hit the pool if it doesn't storm. His birthday is Monday, so it's an all inclusive holiday!
We gave him his cards and presents on Thursday. We bought huge pots and herb plants and made him a 3 tiered herb garden for the patio. Thai basil, cilantro, garlic chives, a huge aloe plant, etc...
I think he liked it, although he's not always the most emotion-showing guy in the world!!
I need to call my dad today.
I sent cards to Cleveland but it's always nice to follow that up with a phone call!!
Happy Father's day to everyone out there who qualifies!!
