MTH 099 test tonight...

I'm not sure if I've mentioned the fact that I don't particularly enjoy the math classes. It's not that I don't understand it, and it's not the fact that I don't do well... I hate TLE's and all of the busy work.
Lecture me in class. Give me meaningful notes. Give me book homework and a piece of paper with a pencil. Let me work all of the problems out. Refresh my memory that Volume = length x width x height. Don't be so lazy that you can't actually TEACH anymore. I realize the developmental math classes are 8 weeks long. I also realize that we have 6 tests and a final, 5 labs, 15 TLE sections with 15 book homework sections, etc... but when I have to print out my self-check results, keep track that I've done each little pissant section of TLE's, write "meaningful" notes, show completely worked problems, organize my class notes, make notes from the TLE's.. print this, write that, label this, etc etc etc... it gets a little tiresome. What have we learned?? To be creative. Who wants to have to do all of this busy work to get a decent grade in a math class? It should be about understanding the principles and rules, being able to do the work and our test grades.
Stop trying to have us teach ourselves this crap, and do what you're paid to do! TLE's --- ugh. You don't even have to think (except for the self checks). Once you miss the answer they're trying to have you input, they give you the answer to put in the little box. I can do that in every section. My problem is this. I start with the Self-check. Because I pay attention in class, know most of this anyways and it's just a refresher course for me... I get 100% on the self-check and you're expecting me to go and do the practice problems? To what avail? A complete waste of 2 valuable hours in my life? I will sit there and guess at what they want me to input, put in the final answer that the computer spits out at me, and call it a day. I'll write some lame brained half-arsed sentence in regards to "what I've learned by doing this section of the TLE's" (don't make me laugh)... and hope to get at least a 15/20 on my notebook --- which took me another 2 hours to get around, print, hole punch, label and write out...
Can I scream now?
Why didn't I test out of these classes? They aren't hard. Oh wait.. I remember... because I haven't had any sort of math class in almost 17 years.... and believe it or not, I've functioned quite well so far! Kids, don't believe your parents when they tell you to learn it and pay attention because you'll use it in the real world. ... Pay attention to fractions and percentages. They will get you where you need to be.
I can't honestly think when I've walked around in my life factoring quadratics and polynomials. Please don't show Dr. Parete this. He actually likes me! and no -- he's not my teacher this semester.
I'm off to my exciting Math class. Wish me luck!!
