Frustration..

Sunday, March 26, 2006
I really hate to complain in my blog here, especially when it's about school.
But, I'm actually pretty grumpy right now. Not blaming Edison, since it's mainly my fault, it just seems as though the mudslide has begun.

Here's the gist of it:
Father-in-law has heart attack.
Is in hospital for 2 weeks.
Comes home for 3 weeks.
Back in hospital for another 20 days.
Has a leaky valve, can't stabilize his blood pressure, etc. Now he's home and starting to feel much better.
Okay, so now you know the short background.
I dropped 3 of my classes so that I could stay home and help out since he insisted he didn't want a nurse, nor did he need one (our thoughts are otherwise). So, once I have dropped 3 of my classes, it only leaves me with 3 credit hours, which at this point is below part-time level, but impossible to avoid...
This means:
I can no longer be a work study for Edison.
I no longer get paychecks from Edison.
Today, I get a bill from Edison for $216.00 stating that it's "Overdue" and "Pay now".
And, to top things off, I get another letter from Great Lakes about my student loans... that I dropped below being part time and if I'm not re-enrolled prior to 9-6-06 that I have to start repaying my loans.
Anything else you'd like to dump on me?
I'm just asking..

As I stated previously, this isn't necessarily anything that ECC has done wrong, it's just a bit much to handle. Yes, I realize there are ramifications for my actions. Yes, I realize it's standard operating procedure. Yes, I realize that I had to remain above 6 credit hours in order to be considered part-time.
One thing I do have a grumble about is: Why didn't anyone say something about me dropping the classes, going below the limit, and not being able to be a work-study anymore PRIOR to me doing it?

Okay.
End transmission.
